A new contender in the EV world has recently taken the fire away from Tesla and it may not surprise who the CEO is. The CEO of Lucid Air is actually one of the main engineers behind the Tesla Model S. This car is the perfect blend of what the old does good and exactly the path EVs should be on. “Despite being a technological marvel with semi-autonomous functionality, rapid charging, a 500+ mile driving range, and a 1,111-horsepower halo model capable of doing 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, it's also genuinely luxurious” ("Best Electric Sedans"). This is the future of car technology with a spacious interior with two large touchscreens. With the rear seats reclining completely to turn into almost beds, this car is the perfect sedan for you and your whole family on road trips and for when you want to turn it up a bit. Along with this, there are multiple trims ranging in price and power output which can match anybody’s needs.
Pricing
The entry-level Pure sells for $87,400 and the addition if AWD for $5,000. The Touring is the next model, and a large price increase, this due to the dual-motor. It has an MSRP of $107,400. The Grand Touring is the current top-spec model, selling for $154,000 in Range spec and $179,000 in Performance trim with 1,050 hp. The Dream Edition of the Lucid Air is currently sold out but retails at a whopping $169,000 ("Best Electric Sedan").
Driving Experience
The handling of this car is not something to be overlooked even though the sedan reaches 5,000 lbs. One of the best things about this car is how it feels to drive. It doesn’t feel artificial to steer, instead, it feels like an old-school traditional car and this makes it so sought after by many. Another feature of the car that makes it unique is the different driving modes such as smooth, swift, and sprint. They are fairly self-explanatory and sprint should only be used when you want to showcase the cars 2.5 second 0-60 time. The only downside to the vehicle is the noise it makes when driving, as it is a larger and heavier vehicle ("Best Electric Sedan").
